Only when we get sufficiently rich can we afford the relative luxury of caring about the environment.

Bjorn Lomborg, The Skeptical Environmentalist: Measuring the Real State of the World.

Now, I came across this quote while typing up a copy of my essay on global warming. I had completely forgotten about how much it enraged me when I first read and quoted it.
If we as a race wait until we are “sufficiently rich” to care, there will be nothing left to care about.
Here’s and idea: care now. Stop spending so much on war without blinking an eye but cringing when you hear the cost of caring for you own people and your own planet. We have a dying Earth and thousands of starving people and we could do something about it.
So let’s.

"Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better, it’s not." ~ Dr. Seuss, The Lorax.
